So exciting… this is my fourth blog entry as a female founder!
In this blog, I’m gonna explain my journey as a female entrepreneur. If you are interested in reading about my quick website set up – continue reading…
Hi everyone,
I just installed WordPress on my webhosting, which is rather quick if you have decided on a webhosting service that supports WordPress (WP).It is very helpful to read about how to set up WordPress, however, in order to log into your WP account use the following: www.yourdomain.com/wp-login.php (insert your domain instead of “yourdomain.com”).
Then you should decide on a theme that you like. There are numerous out there that are for free, but you can also purchase a theme in order to set yourself apart from the rest of the WordPress websites out there in the word wide web.
After including your theme it should already show a layout that you can then work on in order to change the text of the template as well as the look and feel. In case you have not worked with WP before, I can recommend that you do not change the code as this could lead to various errors that could occur.
Lessons learned:
Do not underestimate the time it takes in order to set up your WordPress template. If you are like me, you want to understand how it works and, therefore, will have to read a lot in various blogs in order to understand how to change things properly in your theme.
I was working around 14 hours straight on the WordPress template to finally have an overview I can send to people to get first feedback on it. Do you remember? Immediate customer feedback was one of the first insights I summarised in my earlier blog entries.
Nevertheless, I did not yet manage to include the shop from WooCommerce in my theme, but this will be the new task for tomorrow…
Good night and happy formatting 😉
